Born in Budapest, Glass started work as a cartoonist and retoucher. In 1931 he moved to Berlin where he became an established photographer. Always a fan of racing, Glass became best known for his officially comissioned pictures of Mercedes racing cars.In 1938 Glass fled Germany for London, where he took on fashion and nude photography.
