Thank you Craig for those beautiful pictures and cool words

The 13th running of the annual Moto Melee began last weekend in San Francisco and continued it's winding way for almost 1000 miles through some of the most stunning and motorcycle friendly country on Earth. For 3 days each year seventy or so old-bike enthusiasts from around the globe ride pre-1971 machinery on this event through the incredible lonely roads of Northern California, enjoying high and low temperatures, high elevations, lonely coastal stretches, suicidal wildlife and roads so desolate that hours can go by without seeing a single automobile. This year the motorcycles included a 1914 Excelsior, an ex-Steve McQueen Norton, a very experienced Lambretta, roving gangs of Teutonicly reliable 60's BMWs, Brit Iron from the 30's, 40's and up, two stroke stinkwheels, and a bevy of specials from the sublime to the ridiculous. What you ride is not important, it's the trill of the road and satisfaction that comes from 3 days of hard riding on treasured equipment from another time, reliving the sounds and sensations of motorcycling's rich past.
