Rolex 5517 Milsub

.

By our guest contributor Nicholas Biebuck

Rolex 5517 Milsub is a model of Rolex Submariner which was made especially for the British Royal Navy and issued during the 1970's.
They are different from standard 5513 Submariners from the period and possible to spot by their sword, rather than Mercedes hands, a large T on the dial to indicate the use of tritium for the luminous material, minute markers all the way round the bezel and soldered in bars rather than threaded items meaning only a Nato strap can be used.
Correct and matching Milsubs now sell for approximately £40,000 to £60,000.
