" My family were farmers and as a result I spent most of my childhood on a somewhat isolated hill farm on the top of Cartmel Fell overlooking the beautiful Lythe Valley. Neither of my parents had any interest or involvement in motorcycles whatsoever - in fact they both expressed a genuine dislike for them - my mother often referred to motorbikes as "Inventions of the Devil"..
