Duane DeSoto became the new ASP Longboard World Champion yesterday at Makaha. Duane was born and raised at Makaha. His professional surfing talent was discovered in 1993 by Oxbow during the Haleiwa World Longboard Championship. 17 years later he's become World Champion in his own town..
