First flight of the Douglas XTBD-1, the prototype of the TBD-1 Devastator, a three-seater torpedo bomber that will equip Americans aircraft carriers, USS Saratoga, USS Lexington, USS Yorktown, USS Enterprise, USS Wasp and USS Ranger from the beginning the Second World War.
