Designed by William P. Bruder, built by Bill & Carol Byrne and presently owned by David & Martha Bills. It's located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The design concept of this residence was the creation of a series of abstract ‘canyon walls’ and spaces that emerge as metaphoric geological gestures from the natural desert site. The corbeled concrete masonry and metal clad frame walls embrace the residence’s main entry, living, and circulation/gallery spaces and provide focus to the angular geometry of the building as it grows from the asymmetrical, tapering alignments of the ‘canyon walls,’ which in turn extend the design out into the undisturbed natural desert site, creating outdoor living spaces and courtyards.
