The Lancia D24 of 1953 was one of the great sports cars of the 1950's competing the Carrera Panamericana of that year with Bonetto, Fangio and Taruffi at the wheels and taking a 1-2-3 in the their class, although Bonetto tragically died in the event when he crashed in the village of Silao that the race passed through.
A D24 was also presented by Lancia to Juan PerĂ³n, the president of Argentina, who raced it nationally.
