Forty one years ago, two men set out to do the Paris-Dakar with an Alpine A310! Better known for its victories in rallies, the Dieppe brand has never been officially entered in this legendary event. But that was without counting on the tenacity of driver Thierry Reverchon, and his co-driver Georges Vaills, who was looking for a safe car to take part in this 1981 edition. The 1981 Paris-Dakar Rally was the 3rd running of the Dakar Rally event. The car class was won by René Metge and Bernard Giroux with a Range Rover V8. The motorcycle class was won by Hubert Auriol on a BMW GS 800.
