This bike was a major part of the Bob Brown race team from 1980 until 1987. It was fitted with race engine number 1 after that unit was "retired" and then used as the development bike, ensuring that the race bike remained in service for riders Kevin Magee, Robert Holden and Aaron Slight. At the end of development the motor made 106.7hp from a capacity of 851cc. With the bike having a wet weight of 118kg this made for sprightly performance! The bike was bought and restored by the current owner with the help of Bob Brown. Photographed in Melbourne, Vic. 2015. Graeme Brooker collection.
