1956 Gilera Americana by Riccardo Chiosi

.

Riccardo sent me some pics of his 1956 Gilera 300 modified as if it were rushing in the 60s AMA Novice class ... or as if an italian guy in those era had the dream of doing so. Riccardo changed all by using pieces of various origins, but only from fifties and sixties bikes such as :
• heads and cylinders 300EXTRA version (1962) (bigger than early versions and with the spark plugs located in the front of cylinders)
• re-profiled cams
• air intake and exhaust radiused and polished
• Increased compression ratio
• Dell'Orto 22 carburetor
• handmade alu manifold and Air Filter
• modified final ratio (shorter)
• free exhausts
• stiffer fork springs
• rear shock absorbers with longer wheelbase
• Radaelli steel 19" front rim on Mondial brake
• 19 "Ural Rear rim on Gilera hub
• tires front 3.75 19 ", rear 4.00 19"
• aluminum custom made seat and rear fender
• modified Ducati tank
• aftermarket "flattrack" handlebar
• Tommaselli controls
