The unusual S models were manufactured from 1946 to 1956. There were three: the S7, S8 and S7 Deluxe.

Sunbeam was founded by John Marston, who was born in Ludlow, Shropshire, UK in 1836 of a minor landowning family. In 1851 at age 15, he was sent to Wolverhampton to be apprenticed to Edward Perry as a japanware manufacturer. At the age of 23 he left and set up his own japanning business, John Marston Ltd, making any and every sort of domestic article. He did so well that when Perry died in 1871, Marston took over his company and incorporated it in his own.

The Proust Questionnaire # 13 : Trent Reker

.

Our WebWorld; a lot of us are spending a couple of minutes or hours everyday checking our favourite websites or blogs but who are behind them ? Most part of the time we dont really know.
To find out what's going on behind the screen, i started a serie of portrait of the Men and Women who are making the blogosphere better, for this thirteenth Portrait, i asked my friend Trent Reker to go thru the Proust-Pivot-Lipton Questionnaire to let us know more about himself. Trent is the man behind the great Bikermetric blog and here are his answers.

Wow, frank. that's cool. okay. I apologize in advance for my answers because i'm sober. if i was drunk, they'd be much more amusing. Attached some stuff. use whatever you dig.
peace out, mister!
T

1. What is your favorite word? freedom.

2. What is your least favorite word? bureaucracy.

3. What turns you on? the look i get from the woman who inexplicably loves me when she's thinking about something kinky, or doing it. going for a ride in no hurry and having no specific destination. antique typewriters.

4. What turns you off? being lied to. midget porn. other people's farts. walmart. the inability to admit that you were wrong. sarah palin. the patriot act.

5. What sound or noise do you love? first i think of music and then there is so much bueatuful or angry or raw or harmonic stuff i love. i played in rock bands for years (guitar and vox) and it has been a place to go to either create, or dissapear into, that can make me scream "FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!" or hang my head and sob and pray. it all depends on my mood, what's been happening for my loved ones and me, how much beer i've had in the past few hours... i love music.

6. What sound or noise do you hate? i try not to hate, although i'd imagine many would think i'm a hypocrite for writing that considering how many times i get loaded and rant on bikerMetric about killing bankers and such, but that isn't hate, it's patriotism. i really dislike hearing words of ignorance, obvious lies, and whatever a cop says.

7. What is your favorite curse word? motherfucker.

8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? i have a profession? that's an interesting concept. sometimes i wonder wistully what it would be like to be a monk and brew ale and write poetry about god and sex and death all the time.

9. What profession would you not like to do? anything that puts me in a cubicle and/or under fluorescent lights.

10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? "there's an infinite supply of turbodog in the 'fridge, just past the 72 whores. grab a beer for me, too, and let's talk."

Alain Duplantier discovered his passion for the image when he was 13 years old. When he wanted to be a missionary, an Alpine hunter or astronaut, professional photographer finally came to him as an evidence.
It is primarily his father, a photography lover, who transmits the virus to Alain simply by showing him his pictures. Then his mother took over posing for him in the family living room in Dax.

Lance Letscher "the perfect machine"

.

Hello Frank - I just came across your blog through cafe racer related blog links. I have been doing kind of a special project based on '70's 50cc GP racers. Actually, the first one is a tz125g but that one generated enough $ to buy the Minerelli and a Morbidelli.
Lance Letscher "the perfect machine" is a children's book, published by the University of Texas Press, that is illustrated with my artwork. The actual piece with the same title is the TZ mentioned.

Ice Racing

Ice racing is a form of racing that uses cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, All-terrain vehicles, or other motorized vehicles. Ice racing takes place on frozen lakes or rivers, or on carefully groomed frozen lots. As cold weather is a requirement for natural ice, it is usually found at higher latitudes in Canada, the northern United States, and in northern Europe, although limited indoor events are held in warmer climates, typically on ice hockey rinks (motorcycles and ATVs only). Tracks in North America vary widely, from 1/4 mile (~400 m) long ovals to several mile-long road course designs.

Sorry
Is all that you can't say
Years gone by and still
Words don't come easily
Like sorry
Like sorry

Forgive me
Is all that you can't say
Years gone by and still
Words don't come easily
Like forgive me
Forgive me

But you can say baby
Baby can I hold you tonight
Maybe if I'd told you the right words
At the right time
You'd be mine

I love you
Is all that you can't say
Years gone by and still
Words don't come easily
Like I love you
I love you

But you can say baby
Baby can I hold you tonight
Maybe if I'd told you the right words
At the right time
You'd be mine

Baby can I hold you tonight
Maybe if I'd told you the right words
At the right time
You'd be mine...
