Edouard Broner

.

Edouard Broner started as a graffiti artist at the age of 17 in the underground scene of Paris. At that time, Paris was a vibrant and influential environment for graffiti art in Europe. From the beginning, Broner viewed graffiti as a sophisticated language with its own grammar, idioms, and hidden meanings. Through extensive travels, he inquired into the nature of the worldwide graffiti and street art movement, in particular its roots in the poor areas of New York City. Edouard lives and works in Berlin and Paris.

In 1956, Abarth had already built up an extensive reputation as a premier tuner of Fiat engines and was branching out into many classes of motor sport. To compete in the 750cc class of the Grand Touring Championship, Abarth commissioned Zagato to rebody the Fiat 600 into a purposeful racecar.

Grow Anthology Skateboard

.

So essentially these boards are made out of plastic resin and paper composite, some of it post-consumer waste. Each board sold means a tree planted, so sustainability is important to Grow Anthology. Oddly enough, they aren’t blabbing about it all one the web site. You actually have to look around for it. More than likely, this composite material isn’t viable for your average ledge, stair or rail skater, but for campus cruisers and transportation… Sure, why not. Now your coffee and your skateboard can be Rainforest Alliance certified. Made in USA to boot.

A Thruxton at Bonneville by Christian "Grease" Grisier

.

Frank,
I've been a huge fan of this blog for years. I'm one of three drivers for a very small land speed racing team out of Ohio. We've been setting and breaking records in two classes this year. We're a couple of USAF aircraft mechanics that started working on a Triumph Thruxton a few years ago to race on the Salt Flats. Since then we've made 21 runs at Bonneville and also set two ECTA land speed records. Just thought I'd send you some pictures of our latest adventure. We're still racing the Thruxton and also added a heavily turbocharged 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa to our lineup. Love what you do! Keep the great updates rolling for us all to be inspired.

Also, we went through tech inspection last week next to Bill Anderson and were thrilled to see his bike on here! Small world.

Black alloy wheels, wraparound windscreen, covered headlights, driver’s rollbar, BOP aluminum V-8 with four sidedraft Webers, Hewland 5-speed transaxle. First owned and raced in the USRRC and SCCA by Rod Carveth. Long term in the Rosso et Bianco collection, retained by Evert Louwman after its dispersal and restored to USRRC condition for Olav Glasius. Fresh and unused, although the pictured ‘Buick’ engine doesn’t have Buick heads. Olav Glasius Collection. The 350 pound 215 cubic inch BOP aluminum V-8 was a powerful, lightweight alternative to Lotus’s favored Coventry Climax FPF and quickly vaulted the Lotus 19 to contention in American road racing. With this car’s history and excellent, fresh restoration it should be a highly satisfying entry in the popular historic USRRC series, especially in its sinister black Rod Carveth livery and at this realistic price.

The Proust Questionnaire # 27 : John Mellor

.

Our WebWorld; a lot of us are spending a couple of minutes or hours everyday checking our favourite websites or blogs but who are behind them ? Most part of the time we dont really know.
To find out what's going on behind the screen, i started a serie of portrait of the Men and Women who are making the blogosphere better, for this twentyseventh Portrait, i asked my friend John Mellor to go thru the Proust-Pivot-Lipton Questionnaire to let us know more about himself. John is one of the major shaper in California. John's introduction to surfing in the mid-1960s, is similar to that of many others. However, he has also spent much of his life making and riding a wide variety of surfboards. Here are his answers.
Here is a photo of John looking out of a cave during a wilderness hike in Santa Barbara, Ca.

1) What is your favorite word ? :   Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

2) What is your least favorite word ? :  Can't

3) What turns you on ? :  Certain smells

4) What turns you off ? :  Certain smells

5) What sound or noise do you love? :  The sound of a violin, harp or vibraphone skillfully played.  I like any of those more than just about any other musical instrument.  Have you heard of Stephane Grappelli?  Of course you have, you're French!

6) What sound or noise do you hate ? :  I don't think I want to hear the sound of car tires screeching behind me when I'm out riding my bicycle.

7) What is your favorite curse word ? :  Let's just say it rhymes with truck.

8) What profession other than your own would you like to attempt ? :  I've often dreamt of being an international mystery 5-star hotel guest.  The person who checks in and rates different service oriented goals and objectives while in stealth mode?  I'd like to rate things like poolside bar service under contract.  It sounds like a decent enough way to earn a living.
9) What profession would you not like to do ? :  Well, I've done some low level jobs in my life but after a couple of years experience as a horse ranch caretaker, I can say that I'd rather not shovel too much more horse manure during my remaining time on the planet.

10) If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates ? :  After having a couple of near death experiences (My doctor says I shouldn't be around), I wouldn't be surprised to hear God say something like, "Sooooo... thought you'd pull a fast one, eh?

Bill Anderson Breaking records at Bonneville

.

My Friend Bill runs again and breaks records in Bonneville, enjoy ...

Hello Frank,

Been a while.  We just got back from Bonneville.  And as always we had a great time.  I got to say hello to Les Tripplettes.  They were back again this year.  The sidecar ran great.  Over last winter I built an oversize (546cc) Weslake to be able to run in the 650cc class.  We were running on very slow records.  The 650 gas record was 133 K/m and the fuel record was 167 K/m.  We were able to raise the gas record to 189 K/m and the fuel record to 219 K/m.  And nothing broke.  I was able to return home with a sidecar that was intact!  Here are some photos of the week.

Hope all is well with you.

Take care
Bill Anderson

Plymouth Barracuda

The Plymouth Barracuda is a two-door car that was manufactured by the Plymouth division of the Chrysler Corporation from 1964–1974. The first-generation Barracuda, a fastback A-body coupe based on the Plymouth Valiant, had a distinctive wraparound back glass and was available from 1964–1966. The second-generation 1967–1969 Barracuda, though still Valiant-based, was heavily redesigned. Second-generation A-body cars were available in fastback, notchback, and convertible versions. The 1970–1974 E-body Barracuda, no longer Valiant-based, was available as a coupe and a convertible, both of which were very different from the previous models. The final model year for the Barracuda was 1974.

Amangiri Luxury Resort Hotel

.

pictures © : homedsgn.com

Amangiri, also known as Four Corners, is a holiday resort located in southwestern part of USA, on the borders of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona (therefore Four Corners). Rick Joy, Wendell Burnette & Marwan Al-Sayed designed a hotel that boasts a dramatic landscape scenery with deep canyons and towering plateaus. This area was a home of the Navajo and Hopi tribes for many centuries, but nowadays this sparsely populated and barren land, became a symbol of southwestern America. The architectonic complex blends with the landscape due to the use of materials in natural hues and textures and a careful design.

The great affair is to move. "

Los Angeles to Vancouver Motorcycle Trip

.

By Brett Beadle

Brett Beadle is a Photographer specializes in Editorial & Wedding Photography in Vancouver, BC, Canada

"I could write a million different things about this trip. How amazingly beautiful that coastline on Highway 1 in California is. How that coastal road bends and weaves and dips like it was made for a motorbike to handle. How much fun it is to pass a few motorhomes and a couple rental cars over a double-lined straightaway, peashooter exhaust rumbling along at 6500rpm. How you can smell that sea-salt air when you come down from the mountains into LA." - Brett

Well the kids are all hopped up and ready to go
They're ready to go now
They've got their surfboards
And they're going to the discotheque a go go
But she just couldn't stay
She had to break away
Well New York City really has it all
Oh yeah, oh yeah
